Cincinnati Art and Architecture
When I began my career as a student at the University of Cincinnati, I never would have imagined that a class such as this one would be available to me. I am extremely lucky to have had this opportunity. Over the course of this semester, we took a bus every week and traveled around Cincinnati to view some of the city's finest art works. For me, Cincinnati’s beauty and history had never been put in such a perspective. It is very easy to travel through the city and never look around, but now I look at it in a different way. I am able appreciate its history much more. My personal favorite trip was the day that we visited Plum Street Temple, home to the Isaac M. Wise Congregation. This building was absolutely stunning; it is hard to imagine the talent that had to go into making this temple the beauty that it is today. The walls were hand painted and the building itself had beautiful aesthetic exterior. Other than the Plum Street Temple, the 21C Hotel and Museum was a Cincinnati treasure that I had no idea about. The art that is held in this museum is unique in that is only from the 21st Century. In addition to that enticing fact, this museum is open 24 hours a day so you could visit it at any time. In this course, I learned a lot of information that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I have uploaded some pictures to this page in hopes that you too will be amazed at the beautiful secrets that Cincinnati holds.
